UPDATE: Man in Critical Condition After Being Hit By Car
Victim was walking on 12 Mile Road early Thursday morning when he was struck.
An unidentified man was in critical condition Thursday afternoon after being hit by a car early in the morning, Royal Oak police said.
The man, whose name is not being released, was walking on 12 Mile Road near Rochester Road when he was struck by a vehicle at about 6:30 a.m., police said. He was described as an older male with white hair, said Royal Oak Police Lt. Gordon Young, and was in critical condition at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak.
Witnesses said the man was walking eastbound on 12 Mile Road east of Cody when he was hit by a Chevy Impala driven by a 25-year-old male, Young said. The vehicle was in the curb lane of 12 Mile Road traveling eastbound when the accident occurred.

"Alcohol is not a factor," Young said.
Police are not releasing the identity of the driver and would not say if he will face any criminal charges as the investigation was just beginning.
