Men Who Allegedly Burglarized Clawson Home to Support Heroin Habit Appear in Court
Police think the suspects who were arrested in Clawson may be tied to burglaries in their hometown.

Authorities are investigating whether a two Royal Oak men accused of burglarizing a Clawson home to support their heroin addictions are connected to a string of burglaries in Royal Oak.
Eric Stanley, 25, and Alex Miller, 23, were arrested by an undercover surveillance team from the Troy Police Department on Feb. 16 after the allegedly burglarized a house in the 500 block of Hendrickson, The Oakland Press reports.
Both appeared in Troy 52-4 District court Wednesday on charges of second-degree home invasion,punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

Stanley waived his right to a preliminary examination and was ordered to stand trial. He remains in jail in lieu of $50,000 bond. His arraignment before Judge Langford Morris is March 5.
Miller, who is being held on $15,000 cash bond, asked for a preliminary examination, which will be held before Troy District Judge Kristen Nielsen Hartig at 9 a.m. March 4.

When questioned by Clawson police, Stanley and Miller reportedly said they were heroin addicts. Police found burglary tools, a camera, cash, collectible coins and other items when they were arrested after a surveillance operation, established when Clawson police learned they were in the community.
