OCHN is recruiting for mental health and substance use prevention
In order to engage youth across Oakland County, Oakland Community Health Network (OCHN) is recruiting teens to join a youth-led task force

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI (October 12, 2022) - In order to engage youth across Oakland County, Oakland Community Health Network (OCHN) is recruiting teens to join a youth-led task force on mental health and substance use prevention.
The task force encourages Oakland County teens to identify concerns specific to Generation Z (“Gen Z”), as well as assist in the development of communication messaging to connect youth in this age range to supports and services.
This group will meet monthly to discuss mental health and substance use concerns among youth, strategies to communicate with other youth, and connection to mental health and substance prevention resources.
In addition, all participants will need to have their parent/guardian fill out the consent form. For additional questions or concerns, please contact Kaylee Salveta at salvetak@oaklandchn.org or 248-464-6349.
About OCHN
OCHN is contracted by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to lead a provider service network that assists approximately 23,000 Oakland County citizens at more than 300 service sites across the county. People who receive public behavioral health services through OCHN's provider network include those who have an intellectual or developmental disability, mental health challenge, or substance use disorder. Most of these individuals have Medicaid insurance coverage.
OCHN's goal is to ensure these individuals are aware of and have access to services and supports that will improve their health and quality of life, as well as ensure their engagement in full community participation. Its mission to “inspire hope, empower people, and strengthen communities” reflects an unyielding belief in a "Valuable System for Valued People." Programs and supports provided by OCHN's service network are available at www.oaklandchn.org.
