Pair Take 1-Year-Old to Credit Union Robbery: Police

Community Choice Credit Union robbed Thursday morning.

Royal Oak, Mi — Two men accused of robbing a Royal Oak credit union Thursday morning are in custody and the 1-year-old child of one of them is in protective custody, police said.

One of the two men entered the Community Choice Credit Union, 1709 Crooks Road, about 11:50 a.m. Thursday and passed a note to a teller demanding money, Royal Oak Police Lt. Dave Clemens said in a news release.

After receiving the undisclosed amount of money, he ran to a nearby vehicle driven by the second suspect and they fled the area, Clemens said.

Police found the vehicle stopped in the roadway at E. 12 Mile Road at N. Altadena. One of the suspects had abandoned it and ran northbound through the neighborhood into Red Run Golf Course, while the driver remained in the car with his 1-year-old child, Clemens said.
