UPDATE: Police Issue Alert for Attempted Abduction of Girl
Royal Oak Middle School student became scared and ran away after driver asks her to get into his dark green pickup truck.

Police are looking for a man driving a dark green pickup truck in Royal Oak who attempted to abduct a 12-year-old girl Thursday morning on her way to school, police said.
Police were alerted at 8:10 a.m. that a man approached the girl as she walked eastbound on 11 Mile Road near South Lafayette toward Royal Oak Middle School on Washington, police said.
Royal Oak Police Lt. Gordon Young said the man lowered his passenger window a few inches and asked the unidentified girl her age, her mother's age and "asked her to get into the truck."

Young said the girl ran to the middle school and immediately let school administrators know what happened.
Police described the pickup truck as dark green with two doors, tinted windows and an open bed.
