Police Searching For Suspect In Royal Oak Township Armed Robbery
Michigan State Police said the suspect robbed an AutoZone at gunpoint near the Royal Oak Township and Detroit border and then fled.
ROYAL OAK TOWNSHIP, MI — Michigan State Police are searching for a suspect who robbed an AutoZone on Saturday night along the border of Detroit and Royal Oak Township, officials said.
An employee from the store at 8888 W. 8 Mile Road called police at 7:45 p.m and said they were robbed at gun point, officials said.
The employee described the suspect as having their face covered, wearing a hat and gloves, officials said. It was not immediately clear what the suspect took from the store.

The suspect then fled north from the rear door of the AutoZone, officials said.
A police canine started a track heading north from the store but went back towards 8 Mile where it ended, officials said.

Detectives are working to secure in-store video and are canvassing the area for surrounding surveillance cameras, officials said.
