Detroit Pistons point guard breaks in the new lounge by reading to students
Detroit Pistons point guard Reggie Jackson visited Bow Elementary today to unveil his first Reggie’s Literacy Lounge.
Through Reggie Jackson’s DETermined to Assist Foundation, Reggie’s Literacy Lounge has been created to inspire children to sit down with a book, in a welcoming environment, with seating and bookshelves stocked with more than 600 books.
“These kids deserve to have great resources, like age appropriate books and an inviting space that makes them want to sit down and read,” said Jackson. “With the help of donations from the DETermined to Assist Foundation, as well as my personal interest in ensuring these kids receive the resources they need for a good education, I am proud to give back to the city that’s given me so much.”
