Royal Oak: Do You Know Where Your Snowplows Are?

Snow ordinance in effect. Get up-to-the-minute plow tracking on city website.

ROYAL OAK, MI — If you're suspicious that high ranking city authorities get plowed out first, now you can prove it. Royal Oak has a snowplow tracking map that is updated regularly throughout major storms.

You can find the map, and other helpful information, on the city's website. Remember, when a snow emergency is in effect, all vehicles on residential streets are to be removed or will be ticketed and/or towed. Vehicles are to remain off the streets until plow trucks have gone through the area. Once a snow emergency is called and plowing begins, it takes approximately 24 - 36 hours to plow all city streets.

Updates are also posted on the city's Facebook page. While you're sitting and drinking your cocoa, waiting for the plows to come, the Facebook page is a great place to get ideas for the holidays in Royal Oak. Happy shoveling!
