Royal Oak Listed Among 100 Safest Cities in America

ROYAL OAK, MI – Royal Oak is one of the 100 safest cities in America, according to a new analysis from NeighborhoodScout.com.

NeighborhoodScout looked at FBI crime data on the number of burglaries, larceny-thefts, motor vehicle thefts, murders, rapes, armed robberies and aggravated assaults per 1,000 residents.

The city had a crime index of 66 (100 is safest). A snapshot of the findings is available here.

• Battle Creek, 84th most dangerous
• Jackson, 79th most dangerous
• Lansing, 50th most dangerous
• Kalamazoo, 39th most dangerous
• Saginaw, eighth most dangerous
• Flint, seventh most dangerous
• Detroit, third most dangerous
