Royal Oak Man Engaged in Prostitution Near Elementary School: Police

ROYAL OAK, MI – A Royal Oak man was arrested Tuesday after a surveillance operation at a home near an elementary school determined he was “engaging in prostitution” and providing unlicensed massages, police said.

Nathan Sobel, 62, was arrested on two misdemeanor charges: prostitution and practicing a massage without a permit or license, each punishable by up to 93 days in jail.

Royal Oak police said in a news release that authorities conducted surveillance operation at the home in the 2300 block of Kalama Avenue, which runs parallel to Oakland Elementary School.
The surveillance operation began after a Royal Oak officer assigned to the Troy Special Investigations Unit received a tip about the activity at the home, according to the news relase.
