Royal Oak Pride Fest Returns This Summer: Here's Everything To Know

Here's everything you need to know about the second annual Royal Oak Pride Fest.

ROYAL OAK, MI — Officials announced Thursday the return of Royal Oak Pride, a celebration of unity, diversity and community.

The second annual Royal Oak Pride Fest will take place in the heart of Downtown Royal Oak on Washington Avenue between 5th and 7th streets on Aug. 4 and 5. There will also be vibrant national live performances, food trucks and a wide variety of vendors.

RuPaul's Drag Race Superstars Brooke Lynn Hytes and Alyssa Edwards will headline on Aug. 4 and 5. Singer-songwriter and "The Four" finalist VINCINT and Puddles Pity Party, the clown with the golden voice, will round out a diverse array of national talent.

There will also be additional performances by Detroit’s own Barbara Payton, longtime backing vocalist for Bob Seger, as well as top-notch tribute artists with full bands paying homage to the greatest hits of Donna Summer, Michael Jackson and Prince.

Live DJ music and karaoke will provide additional entertainment on two stages throughout the event, which will run from 5:00 -11:00 p.m. on Aug. 4, and 11:00 a.m. through 11:00 p.m. on Aug. 5.

"We are excited to welcome Royal Oak Pride and its attendees back to our community this year," Downtown Manager for the Royal Oak DDA Daniel Hill said. "This event is truly one that highlights Downtown Royal Oak as a place where LGBTQIA+ people are celebrated, and people from all walks of life are welcome to enjoy themselves."
