Royal Oak Store Part of $80M Meijer Makeover

Twelve stores across Metro Detroit will get expanded apparel, electronics and liquor departments.

ROYAL OAK, MI – The Meijer Store in Royal Oak is among 12 getting a facelift as part of an $80 million investment in Metro Detroit announced by the Grand Rapids-based retailer.

The work at the Royal Oak store, located at 5150 Coolidge Highway, is expected to continue throughout the year.

Interior and exterior improvements will include wider aisles, redesigned floor plans and new signage throughout the stores, according to a news release.

Once the work is completed, the stores will feature expanded apparel, electronics and liquor departments and provide greater selection of skin care products, vitamins and natural pet foods. The remodel projects will also include expanded food departments that will feature a wider selection of fresh produce, meat and dairy delivered seven days a week.

Meijer operates 224 supercenters and grocery stores in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Wisconsin.
