Royal Oak Train Death Ruled a Suicide
Police Lt. Dave Clemens said the man's family reported he'd been depressed.

Royal Oak, MI — Authorities say the death of a man who was struck in Royal Oak by an Amtrak passenger train has been ruled a suicide.
Royal Oak police Lt. Dave Clemens told the Detroit News the department isn’t releasing the name of the 23-year-old Pontiac man who was struck early Wednesday morning.
The man’s family reported he’d been depressed, according to Clemens.

The Daily Tribune reported investigators learned after interviewing the train’s crew that the man was lying across the railroad tracks as the train approached. The crew was unable to stop the train in time.
There were no injuries aboard the train.
