Royal Oak's UrgentOrtho Treats Quick, Specialized Services

The clinic specializes in treating injuries such as sprains, fractures, joint and muscle pain.

ROYAL OAK, MI — The Michigan Orthopaedic Surgeons in Royal Oak reminded residents of its UrgentOrtho clinic, which can treat musculoskeletal accidents and other injuries.

The clinic is located inside the Michigan Orthopaedic Surgeons building at 30575 Woodward Ave, and has specialized orthopaedic surgeons who can diagnose and treat injuries such as sprains, fractures, joint and muscle pain and sports injuries.

CEO of Michigan Orthopaedic Surgeons Gregg Florentin said the clinic is looking to reduce the strain on hospitals and save patients' time by ensuring proper medical care for orthopaedic related injuries.

"Hospitals are seeing patients in record numbers while battling a staffing shortage and fatigued workforce," Florentin said. "In many ERs, the wait time can reach more than four hours, which is outrageous."

Florentin said that UrgentOrtho physicians can see and treat patients faster than a standard ER wait, with appropriate use of PPE to keep patients and staff safe.

The clinic is also the region’s only orthopaedic after-hours clinic, which is open Monday through Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Fees are similar to a standard office visit, which are typically less expensive than a trip to the ER. Telehealth visits and walk-ins are also available.
