Shrine Competes in Cross Country League Championships

Knights' Ben Kendell finishes first in Saturday's competition.

s cross country teams placed in the top 5 Saturday at the 2011 Catholic League Cross Country Championships at Kensington Metro Park in Milford.

The course is one of the more challenging with rolling terrain and steep grades.

The Shrine Knight girls finished in third place, while the boys came in at fourth. Ben Kendell (18:12) and Matt Sutton (18:20) beat all competitors in the boys race finishing first and second. Madelyne Luddy (21:37) led the girls with a fifth place finish.

Coach Wright Wilson was pleased with the results. "All of our girls finished in the top 20 and our boys grabbed a first and second," he said. "We're pretty happy with that.
