State Rep Candidate Katie Reiter Gains Key Political Endorsements

Local businesswoman and community activist, Katie Reiter, is seeing momentum and support in her campaign for State House Representative.

Katie Reiter, Democratic candidate for District 35 of the MI State House of Representatives, achieved key political endorsements from political leaders at state, regional, and local organizations in April.

  • At the state level, current MI State Representative Robert Wittenberg(District 27), former State Representative (District 25) Marie Donigan, and former State Representative (District 35) and Southfield City Councilman Paul Condinohave endorsed Reiter.
  • Regionally, the Michigan Fighting Fourteen Indivisible Groupand Peace Action Michigan Board Member Rudy Simons have endorsed Reiter.
  • Locally, Village of Beverly Hills President and Council Member John Mooney, Lathrup Village Board of Review Member Saleem Siddiqi, Southfield Library Board President Eunice Rose,and former Southfield Bussey Center for Early Childhood Education Principal Dr. Bailie Rosenthalhave endorsed Reiter.

Reiter, running on a “Healthy Families/Healthy Communities/Healthy Economy” platform, expressed gratitude for the endorsements. She cites her involved approach to community engagement as key to her early campaign momentum.

“People want new energy and engaged legislators,” Reiter said. “As an activist candidate, I plan to work the issues and stick with them to see them through. It’s a more committed approach than simply ‘voting the issues.’ I partner with grassroots groups to advocate, educate, and engage my community.”

Reiter will host a Mother’s Day Brunch on May 12th in Southfield.
