Street Artist David Zinn Brings 3-D Wizardry to Detroit Zoo

The street artist and illustrator's work has appeared on streets from Michigan to Manhattan.

ROYAL OAK, MI — David Zinn, a street artist and illustrator from Ann Arbor whose 3-D chalk drawings are seen on streets around Michigan and beyond, including subway platforms in Manhattan, will bring the pavement at the Detroit Zoo to life later this month and next.

Zinn will create playful 3-D animal drawings composed entirely of chalk on the pavement at three Zoo locations from noon to 8 p.m. on July 27 and Aug. 10.

Guests will have the opportunity to view Zinn in action as he draws inspiration from his wild surroundings to create the images. He will begin whipping up his whimsical works of art near the Polk Penguin Conservation Center, and will also stage near Rackham Fountain and the Cotton Family Wolf Wilderness throughout the day.
