Superheroes Raised $84,000 at the Walk for Miracles
To Benefit Beaumont Children's, a Children's Miracle Network Hospital
Approximately 2,500 superheroes joined Beaumont Children’s “Walk for Miracles” at the Detroit Zoo, Saturday, June 11, 2022. Event proceeds of more than $84,000 will benefit programs of Beaumont Children’s through Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
Participants dressed as their favorite superhero or fantasy character. In addition to enjoying a day at the Detroit Zoo, children met Super Beau, the Beaumont Children’s mascot, and other popular fairytale and comic book heroes. Each child received a superhero cape and medal.
Students of the Royal Oak School District went all out to support the fundraiser by dressing in costume for the children, volunteering to assist walkers, performing in the pep band, and raising $4,675 to donate to the pediatric programs. Amazon, the event's lead sponsor, also donated $28,000 of new children's toys to pediatric patients at Beaumont Children's.
