Suspect in Driveway Gets a Surprise: Blotter
In another incident, the steering column of an unlocked pickup was damaged when thieves reportedly tried to steal it.

A Royal Oak man reported to police that he saw a man sitting in his pickup truck while it was parked in his driveway in the 1900 block of N. Wilson St. about 12:30 Monday afternoon.
When the two made eye contact, the suspect fled in a red Dodge Dakota pickup that was stopped in the street.
The complainant said the suspect was an 18- to 20-year-old male, about 6 feet tall and weighing 150-170 pounds. He was unable to get a good view of the driver of the truck.

Another Royal Oak resident reported someone tampered with his vehicle while it was parked in front of his residence in the 2000 block of N. Wilson between 9 p.m. Sunday and 10:30 a.m. Monday.

The 2000 GMC Sierra was unlocked at the time, and the truck’s owner said the steering column had been damaged by someone who was attempting to steal it. The case number in that incident is 15-41880.

2300 block of N. Vermont, 11-05-15, 12:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.: Complainant reported he parked his 2000 Oldsmobile Alero in front of his residence. When he returned he discovered an unknown suspect had stolen the catalytic converter. 15-41291

1500 block of Mayfield, 11-9-15, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.: Complainant reported he parked his 2005 Chrysler Town & Country in front of his residence. When he returned he discovered an unknown suspect had broken out the rear window of the vehicle. 15-41953
