Thief Smashes Door, Steals iPhones from Display Case: Police

ROYAL OAK, MI – Eight iPhones were stolen from a display cabinet at the AT&T Store, 30254 Woodward Ave., in an overnight break-in earlier this month, the Royal Oak Police Department said.

Police were alerted to the break-in at 4:29 a.m. May 12 by a security alarm. The front door glass had been broken, police said.

The burglary remains under investigation.

32128 Woodward (Bourlier’s Barbeque and Fireplace), 5-14-16, 6:45 a.m. – 7:30 a.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect stole a 12” wooden stake trailer from the rear of the business. The suspect vehicle was described as a white GMC or Chevy pickup truck, with a long bed and tinted windows. 16-16601

[RECIC]100 block of Rhode Island, 5-13-16 – 5-14-16, 8:00 p.m. – 6:53 a.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect entered his unlocked detached garage and stole a green Iron Horse mountain bike. 16-16577

200 block of Dewey, 5-12-16 – 5-13-16, 10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect stole a 24” black Mongoose bicycle from his front porch. 16-16383

Larceny from Automobile

1100 block of Catalpa, 5-11-16 – 5-12-16, 10:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.: Complainant reported he parked and locked his vehicle near his residence. When he returned he discovered an unknown suspect had broken out the driver side window and stole his wallet. 16-16238

3500 block of Edgar (Royal Oak Golf Center), 5-8-16, 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.: Complainant reported he parked his 2015 Chrysler minivan in the customer parking lot. When he returned he discovered an unknown suspect had entered his unlocked vehicle and stole the in-dash radio system. 16-16163

1200 block of Mohawk, 5-16-16 – 5-17-16, 9:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.: Complainant parked his 2012 Chrysler Town and Country near his residence. When he returned he discovered an unknown suspect had entered the unlocked vehicle and stole the in-dash navigation system.

Malicious Destruction of Property

3601 W. Thirteen Mile (William Beaumont Hospital), 5-9-16, 6:45 a.m. – 7:45 p.m.: Complainant reported she parked her vehicle in the west parking structure. When she returned she discovered an unknown suspect had keyed both sides of her car. 16-16105
