Vote Now: Royal Oak Athlete of the Winter Season

Vote from a list of very deserving candidates on who should be named the Patch Athlete of the Season for Royal Oak.

had a lot of athletes put up great performances this season. We want to hear from our readers which one they thought was the best.

Sami Stormont; Jr. Basketball – There might not have been a more efficient scorer in Oakland County than Sami Stormont. She averaged over 22 points per game on her way to earning Class A All-State First Team honors from the Associated Press. Back in January, Stormont also averaged over nine rebounds a game this season.

Eric White; Sr. Hockey – Eric White racked up the points this season for the Ravens. In the Oakland Activities Association White division, he was tied with Troy’s James Nahikian for first in goals scored with 12. The senior’s 21 points put him second in the division in points. Overall, his 46 points were the more than any other player in the Oakland Activities Association. He finished the season with 27 goals and 19 assists in 24 games.

Tyler McCullough: Sr. Wrestling – Tyler McCullough was a win away from qualifying for the individual state finals. The senior reached regionals , he also earned Patch Athlete of the Week honors for his performance.

Vtech Fuchs; Sr. Swimming – Vtech Fuchs qualified for the state swim finals in three events. He finished 23rd in the 50 yard freestyle (22.40), 28th in the 100 yard freestyle (49.52) and as part of the Ravens 400 yard relay team finished 33rd (3:32.23). Earlier in the season, He was voted "Senior of the Meet" for winning the 50-yard freestyle (22.63) and the 100-yard backstroke. He also was part of the 200-yard freestyle relay team that finished in third place and the 400-yard freestyle team that finished in second.
