Wannabe Burglars in Royal Oak Have a Really Bad Week

Home and business owners 3, burglars 0. They wanted to walk away with your stuff, but couldn't get in. So sad, right?

ROYAL OAK, MI – A trio of would-be burglars have had some tough luck recently, according to the weekly Royal Oak Police Department blotte

A resident living on the 3800 block of Rochester told police someone cut the screen in his apartment sometime between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Police said the suspect did not gain entry, and nothing was reported stolen.

A woman who lives on the 1200 block of Greenleaf said someone tried to pry open the side door of her home, but was unable to get in, between 11 a.m. and 2:15 p.m.

On May 27, Flash Printing, 1219 E. 11 Mile, reported that someone tried to pry open the front door of the business, but again, was unable to get in.

Larceny

1711 N. Main (Burger King), 5-26-16, 12:45 p.m. – 12:55 p.m.: Complainant reported he left his wallet unattended in the business. When he returned he discovered his wallet had been stolen by an unknown suspect. 16-18458

1300 block of S. Main, 5-25-16, 10:52 a.m. – 5:15 p.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect had stolen two (2) UPS packages delivered to her residence. 16-18447

Malicious Destruction of Property

600 block of W. Webster, 5-27-16, 3:00 a.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect damaged a Japanese maple tree and a landscaping ornament located in his front yard. 16-18389

100 block of Chippewa, 5-26-16 – 5-27-16, 6:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.: Complainant reported he parked his car on the street near his residence. When he returned he discovered an unknown suspect had scratched the driver side door and fender. 16-18388

200 block of Laplaza Ct., 5-30-16 – 5-31-16, 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.: Complainant reportedan unknown suspect spray painted graffiti on the east side of the vacant home. 16-18928

2800 Woodward (Dailey Law Firm), 5-27-16 – 5-31-16, 12:00 p.m. – 9:30 a.m.: Complainant reported a business owned vehicle was parked in the parking lot. When he returned he discovered an unknown suspect had broken out the passenger side windows, driver door window, damaged the passenger side view mirror and dented the driver side rear door. 16-18923
