Do you already have plans for the long weekend? Are you going Up North? Are you having friends over and cooking (gasp) something wonderful? Are you planning on going to the opening of the Summer Invitational at the Lawrence Street Gallery?
Well here’s the warning: this month’s opening will be on Thursday not Friday. You read right. No kidding. The Summer Invitational featuring the work of more than 60 talented artists will be Thursday, July 3 from 6 to 9.
So how’s this for a plan? Pack on Wednesday so you can stop in at the gallery on Thursday and see the work of some of the most creative people in the metro area. Lots of the artists will be there; you can talk to them (they’ll be wearing special name tags). Or if you’d rather, you can just drink wine and admire them from afar.

Since your packing and/or shopping will be all done, you can really enjoy yourself.
And here’s another shocker: the gallery will be closed on Friday, the 4th.
