While Clerk Is Distracted, Woman Grabs Lottery Tickets and Runs: Police

Also on the Royal Oak police blotter, a customer said her wallet was lifted from her purse while she was shopping.

ROYAL OAK, MI — A clerk at a local convenience store reported to police that a customer stole several scratch-off lottery tickets from the counter while she was distracted, according to the July 14-21 blotter released by the Royal Oak Police Department.

The incident happened around 12:05 a.m. on July 16 at the 7-Eleven store t 1620 E. 13 Mile Road.

The suspect was described as a white female around 19 years old, standing 5 feet, 4 inches to 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing about 115 pounds.

After taking the tickets, she left the business and got into a dark colored sedan and fled the area, according to the report.

Larceny

5150 Coolidge (Meijer), 7-19-16, 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect stole her wallet from her purse while she was shopping. She noticed her wallet was missing while in the checkout lane. 16-25508

4200 block of Olivia, 7-19-16 – 7-20-16, 9:00 p.m.- 4:53 p.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect stole a folding aluminum ladder from the back yard of the residence.

2400 block of Parmenter, 7-19-16-16 – 7-20-16, 11:41 a.m. – 1:50 p.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect had stolen the contents from a FedEx package delivered to her address. 16-25580

Larceny from an Automobile

2000 block of Eleven Mile, 7-15-16 – 7-16-16, 10:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.: Complainant reported he parked his car in his driveway. When he returned he discovered an unknownsuspect had entered his unlocked vehicle and stole a cordless drill and an undisclosed amount of currency. 16-25060

Malicious Destruction of Property

300 block of N. Vermont, 7-13-16 – 7-14-16, 10:00 p.m. – 9:00 a.m.: Complainant reported she parked a rental car in her driveway. When she returned she discovered an unknown suspect had keyed the driver side door. 16-24801

Fifth & Center St. 7-16-16, 6:11 p.m.: Complainant reported she parked her car in a public alley. When she returned she discovered an unknown suspect had keyed the driver side.
