Apples are noted for lowering cholesterol levels, and almonds can boast the same benefit. Almonds have >90% unsaturated fatty acids, which makes it a heart healthy snack.

Further, when incorporated in a healthy diet they have even more health benefits - such as maintaining a healthy weight and protecting against heart disease and cancer.
