Win a $1,000 Gift Card By Shopping In Downtown Royal Oak

ROYAL OAK, MI — The Royal Oak Downtown Development Authority announced Thursday it's giving away six $1,000 gift cards to shoppers who spend at least $25 at a participating retailer in the Royal Oak Downtown Development District.

The shopping spree giveaway will be held leading up and through the Arts, Beats and Eats weekend from Wednesday, Aug. 31 through Monday, Sept. 5. The six winners, one for each day of the giveaway, will be selected at random during a live drawing on Tuesday, Sept. 6 on Downtown Royal Oak’s Facebook page.

The gift cards can be used at any participating retail stores including:

Shoppers can only win once, but if they spend at least $25 at more than one participating retailer, they will have multiple entries in the drawing. Entries are limited to one entry at each business per day. A shopper can enter multiple times each day, but only if they visit multiple participating businesses and spend the minimum $25 in one transaction.

The $1,000 Downtown Dollars gift cards must be used at participating retail establishments by Oct. 31.

In addition, at this year’s Arts, Beats & Eats festival through Labor Day weekend, 5,000 people will have the chance to win a $20 Downtown Dollars gift card that can be used at more than 30 participating retail businesses in Downtown Royal Oak.

The first 1,250 people that sign up will receive a $20 Downtown Dollars gift card. The gift card will be delivered by email. Gift card recipients will have until Sept. 30 to use the gift card at participating retail businesses.

"Downtown Royal Oak is a walkable, welcoming community, and we want to make sure regular and new guests are exploring all that Downtown Royal Oak has to offer, including the unique retail shops that are located here," Downtown Manager for the Royal Oak Downtown Development Authority Daniel Hill said.

"Downtown Dollars are a great way for visitors and residents to support the local businesses in the Downtown Development District, and try something new - whether it’s purchasing vintage apparel or a small gift for a friend - Downtown Royal Oak truly has something for everyone," he added.
