Woman Killed After 'Roadkill Nights' Drag Race at Dream Cruise
The crash did not happen on the drag racing course and was not related to the event, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office said.

PONTIAC, MI — A Kent, Ohio, woman was killed Friday night after she and her husband left the “Roadkill Nights” drag racing event at the Woodward Dream Cruise, where he was a finalist, authorities said.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that the 68-year-old woman was killed about 10 p.m. when the couple’s vehicle, a Dodge Challenger SRT, was broadsided by a 2014 Chevrolet Impala along Woodward Avenue, south of Huron Street. She was a passenger in the vehicle.
The Challenger was westbound on Huron and the driver of the Impala, a 55-year-old Fenton resident, was attempting a left turn onto southbound Woodward. The Impala entered the intersection on a green light, and struck the Challenger broadside when the driver turned left in front of it, the sheriff’s office said.

The woman was pronounced dead at McLaren-Oakland Hospital. The two drivers were injured and checked on scene.
The crash did not happen on the drag racing course and was not related to the event, the sheriff’s office said.
Alcohol was not believed to have been a factor in the accident. All of those involved were wearing seat belts, according to the release.
