Woman In Wheelchair Falls Into Road, Fatally Struck In Royal Oak: Cops
Police said the 39-year-old driver who hit the woman stayed at the crash scene in Royal Oak.
ROYAL OAK, MI — A woman was fatally struck by a car Monday afternoon after she fell out of her wheelchair while trying to cross a road in Royal Oak, police said.
Police said the 50-year-old woman from Detroit was hit in the area of Woodward Avenue and Coolidge Highway just after 3:10 p.m. when she fell forward from her wheelchair into the roadway.
Royal Oak officials took the woman to a nearby hospital, where she died from her injuries, police said.
