So I am reading a post from a dear friend of mine on Facebook and it got me thinking... Why are some professions/workers allowed to work at the pace of a snail???
I will give you some examples: Secretary of State customer service reps, fast food employees at KFC, Taco Bell and the Ferndale Post Office (to name a few :) ). I am sure I am missing many others but these are the ones I have the most recent less-than-pleasurable experiences with... and it KILLS me, especially the Secretary of State!
Has customer service just gone out the window? Do these business not care? Now many of you would say "well just stop going to those places of business...." Yeah well I will NEVER go to the Ferndale post office again, and I avoid KFC even though I love their biscuits, BUT one cannot really avoid the Secretary of State (SOS) if you are unable to renew your plates through the mail. Everyone knows how long the lines are at the SOS, and I am sure our government does as well so WHY??? Hire some more damn people so that we don't all have to sit there for over an hour and listen to the crazy ranting of those we are forced to sit next to...PLEASE!
Why is slowness/laziness and an all around lack of attention to customer service accepted? If I did that at my job I would be fired. But I wouldn't work that way because I take pride in working hard and getting the job done. IS that type of work ethic gone??? Have we raised a generation of silver spooned brats?? Some would say yes and I am inclined to believe it as well as I have seen it in action. Aaahh the generation of entitled little brats who think everything should be handed to them... I will not dive into that topic further as it is a different blog topic entirely (and will probably be my next one)
Ok, so now I am ranting but truly this has been something that ticks me off for a long time. I guess my message and hope would be that if you have a J-O-B please do it well and efficiently. Don't keep me waiting because I have things to do and my day doesn't depend on your slow-butt. PLEASE remember how important customer service is to EVERYONE.... you are a customer too and would you like to be treated the same? I would think not.
