Workout, sweat and go green with the barre code and detroit spartans to help kids with cancer!
Royal Oak, Michigan (July 5, 2016) — The Barre Code, Royal Oak, along with the Detroit Spartans, are giving back to the community by hosting The Sunset Sweat, a Barre Code class taking place in Memorial Park benefiting Camp Casey, a nonprofit horseback riding program for kids with cancer and rare blood disorders.
The Sunset Sweat will take place Wednesday, July 13, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Memorial Park in Royal Oak, Michigan and is $15 per person. 100% of proceeds will go directly to Camp Casey and will help them reach more children with cancer through their Horsey House Calls program.

"At The Barre Code, community involvement is at the heart of everything we stand for,” said The Barre Code Metro Detroit owner Lindsay Irrer. “With both myself and my business partner as proud Spartan alumna, we are excited to be joining forces with the Detroit MSU Alumni Association to raise awareness and support for such a fantastic cause."
Camp Casey has green roots as well; the program was founded by a then-MSU student in 2004 and has been spreading the healing power of horses to sick children ever since. Their signature program, Horsey House Calls, takes a horse right to the door of a child’s home and surprises them for the day. Equipped with a therapy horse, Equine Therapist, and trained volunteers, Camp Casey’s Horsey House Calls provide a day of respite to children with cancer and their families; the 501c3 nonprofit offers a horse lesson, horseback rides, pizza party, craft projects, games and more, all in the family’s yard, and at no cost to the participants.

“It is truly an honor to be part of an event that not only brings Spartan alums together, but also helps Camp Casey bring horses to the doorsteps of children battling cancer, says Steve Culp, President of the Detroit Spartans.
