• Car Crash Damages Saline-owned Land (thesuntimesnews.com) — A single-vehicle crash early September 12 damaged fencing and a tree on the city-owned Davenport Curtiss Mansion property at 300 E. Michigan Avenue in Saline. Police say a 33-year-old Tecumseh woman was hospitalized and is under investigation for possible drunk driving, with lab results pending. Because the historic site belongs to the city, officials plan to file an insurance claim and may seek restitution if charges are authorized.
   

• Downtown gathering space plans revised after lawsuit in Saline (mlive.com) — Plans for a new downtown gathering space behind Murphy's Crossing in Saline are moving forward, but without a disputed city-owned parcel now tied up in a lawsuit involving the Girbach family. Developer Praxis Properties has scaled back the design, delayed construction to 2027–28, and cut the city's contribution to $250,000, while Saline officials continue reviewing the project and emphasizing its importance for concerts and community events.
