Jaycee Week to Showcase Positive Change

YPSILANTI, MICHIGAN (10/01/2012) – The Ypsilanti Area Jaycees have announced the dates for this year's Jaycee Week will be October 7th through October 13th. Jaycee Week is an annual showcase of a small sample of the type of events and projects the organization produces throughout the year.

“It's great to see our chapter pull together to create such a wide variety of projects in one week to showcase the positive change the Jaycees help to create in Ypsilanti,” said 2012 Local President Kristen Mishler. “We have a great line-up of events that's going to make for an exciting week!”

Each year, the Ypsilanti Area Jaycees celebrate Jaycee Week to showcase a small section of the type of projects and events the Jaycees conduct throughout the year. Scheduled this year are six events in seven days.

Highlights of the week includes: the chapter's 4th Annual “Ypsi's Got Talent”, a juried talent competition featuring performers from the community, taking place on Friday, October 12th from 8:00pm to 11:00pm at the Crossroads Bar and Grill in Ypsilanti; a Downtown Cleanup on Wednesday, October 10th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, which will focus on cleaning the sidewalk areas of downtown Ypsilanti in preparation of the fall and holiday seasons; and the Meet the Jaycees Mingler, a early week social and info night, on Monday, October 8th from 7:00pm to 10:00pm at the Corner Brewery.

Additional projects during the week include: a Myers-Briggs personality training using blind putt-putt at Putterz on Sunday, October 7th at 2:00pm; a business tour of Solar Ypsi on Thursday, October 11th; and a trip to the Pumpkin Factory in Belleville for Ypsi's Play Date on Saturday, October 13th.
