Local Boy Scout seeks bikes to benefit children through The Salvation Army of Washtenaw County

Tristan Brauer of Ypsilanti and a member of Boy Scout Troop 290, is collecting, cleaning and repairing bicycles for distribution to children in need right here in Washtenaw County. The project is his last on his journey to becoming an Eagle Scout. With the help of The Salvation Army of Washtenaw County, Brauer will match the refurbished bikes to local children who don’t have one of their own.  But first, he needs to gather more bikes. Brauer is asking community members to check their garages, basements and sheds for gently-used bicycles they’ve out grown or no longer use so that he can give them a new lease on life.

To donate your gently-used bicycle to a good cause, contact Tristan Brauer at (734) 330-5170 or sontarble@gmail.com.
