Saline Middle School Donates Over 3,000 Items to Saline Social Services

On Thursday, October 18th, Saline Middle School students showed the community how much they truly care.

Between Wednesday, October 10th and Thursday, October 18th, SMS students engaged in a UofM vs MSU Food Drive.  Students across the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade levels all donated food and health items to and placed their donation with either UofM or MSU.

Frisbee Moving, a moving and storage company out of Ann Arbor, donated their time and trucks to the venture.  On October 18th, the official donation day, Frisbee Moving brought the UofM equipment truck to SMS.  When the students walked aboard, they placed their donations into the UofM or MSU bins.  Parent volunteers counted the donations and kept tallies along the way.

The final results of the SMS Food Drive include a grand total of over 3,000 items donated to Saline Social Services.  UofM easily won the spirited competition over MSU.
