Experts say as many as half the injuries sustained by youth while playing sports are likely preventable, and education is key to reducing the risks of a young athlete becoming injured during a game or practice.

Safe Kids Huron Valley’s sports safety campaign will include two Sports Safety Zone workshops that will be hosted for young athletes, parents, and coaches and will focus on the most common causes of preventable injuries including overuse, dehydration, heat-related illness, concussion, and injuries caused by pre-existing medical conditions and lack of conditioning.

The second Sports Safety Zone will be held later in the summer.  Details for this sports safety workshop will be promoted by Safe Kids Huron Valley soon.
