Mr. Paul Teboe, Head Instructor of Saline ATA Martial Arts, has become the 2012 World Champion in Combat Weapon Sparring for the 2nd year in a row.
Last week, Mr. Teboe and 11 of his students traveled to World Championships in Little Rock, Arkansas to compete.
He and 5 of his students competed in Top Ten events Thursday and Friday, culminating the 2011/12 season. As a result, Mr. Teboe took the coveted 1st in Combat Weapon Sparring, Mrs. Stacy Moore took 2nd place (silver) in Traditional Weapon and a 3rd place (bronze) in Creative Form, and Mr. Brandon Moore took 3rd place (bronze) in Traditional Weapon and a 3rd place (bronze) in Combat Weapon Sparring.

All 11 competed Saturday and Sunday in competitions marking the beginning of the 2012/13 tournament season. The athletes brought home one 1st place medal, five 2nd places and ten 3rd place finishes. Events include traditional Form, weapon and sparring, combat weapon sparring, creative form and weapon, and x-treme form and weapon.
"It was such an honor to have taken 1st last season in combat weapon sparring and my goal was to confirm my ability in this event. To have done it again serves as a validation that my hard work has paid off," says Teboe.

Teboe adds, "My students inspire me daily to perform at my best and along with my Instructor Sr. Master Tomas Sandoval, I cannot thank them enough for their support. I am so happy to have taken so many students with me this year and couldn't be more proud of their sportsmanship and success at this highly competitive event. I feel blessed to be surrounded by such quality individuals."
