The GOP presidential candidate will speak at a state party fundraiser. But have his recent public miscues soured his message?

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump comes to Tuesday’s Lincoln Day Dinner with even more baggage than is common for the controversial political figure.

That optimistic outlook comes after Trump has been criticized by members of his own party for nasty remarks he made about Megyn Kelly, Fox News host and the co-moderator of last week’s Republican debate. Trump claimed Kelly’s questions were unfair and biased, especially when she asked about past sexist comment he made. Without a hint of irony, Trump said after the debate that “blood was coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever.”

Stone either quit over the Kelly fiasco or he was fired, depending on whose story you believe (and whose story you believe probably also offers some good insight into your own beliefs and well being).

The GOP event will be at Birch Run Expo, 1160 North Beyer Road, Birch Run. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the event begins at 7 p.m.
