Back to School: Saline Middle School
Here's what's new at Saline Middle School as the new school year nears.
New Faces: Eighth grade math teacher Julie Whitmore, seventh grade social studies teacher Laura Odom, seventh grade social studies Teacher Mark Messmore, seventh grade English teacher Cathy Reddies, seventh and eighth grade Spanish teacher Erica Peplinski, physical education teacher Chris DeFant, media center coordinator Laurie Dawson and para-educator Adam Jurasek.
The school is in the process of hiring a new Dean of Students, who will be shared with the high school.
New Places: All other teachers and staff are in their normal positions.

New Spaces: The middle school had no facility changes over the summer.
New Clases/Programs: There will by a monthly cyber-safety initiative implemented this year at the middle school. The program will teach students about bullying and other forms of digital problems that arise in schools.

Rules For School: There are no new rules this year.
School Day Hours: 8 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
Orientation/Walk-through dates: Eighth grade students took incoming sixth graders on a tour from 8 a.m. to noon, Aug. 25, to help them adjust to the new school. Students can pick up their schedules and tour the school from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 30. Student pictures will also be taken. The schedule is determined by grade and student last name.
