Please Help Us Welcome Our New Main Street Manager!
Hiring a full-time Main Street Manager is a requirement of becoming a Select Level Michigan Main Street community. Meet Kelly Idzikowski, the newest addition to the Saline Main Street team!
One of the requirements of being in the Select Level of the Michigan Main Street Program is to hire a full-time manager. The Main Street Manager will be responsible for coordinating downtown revitalization activities through the Board and Teams of Saline Main Street utilizing the Main Street Four Point Approach. The Manager will also help promote public awareness of the program and act as liaison to other government and community organizations.
Kelly Idzikowski was chosen from over thirty applications received by a seven member selection team representing the Saline Main Street Board, the Saline Downtown Merchants Association, the City of Saline, and also a retired Human Resources Director.
As a recent graduate from Michigan State University with a degree in Advertising, Kelly has experienced the Main Street organization under the leadership of Brittney Hoszkiw in Old Town Lansing. Old Town Lansing Main Street is a recent recipient of the Great American Main Street Award, a competition held annually to recognize the top Main Street programs in the country. (Brittney is now the Organization Specialist for the Michigan Main Street Center and will be providing the Main Street Manager training to Kelly.) In Old Town Lansing, Kelly organized a number of fundraising events for the organization including a sustainable art competition, Scrapfest, managed and recruited many volunteers and worked with business owners to increase awareness of the downtown. In addition to this she has been involved with a number of other non-profits including Big Brothers Big Sisters and Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
