Yarn Bomb at Two Twelve Arts Center

Find out what happened at Two Twelve Arts Center last Friday that made it so bright and colorful!

Yarn Boming--also known as graffiti knitting, or guerilla knitting--is a type of temporary installation that employs yarn, or other colorful fiber. While some consider this type of installation to be a stealth form of street art; other artists practice it as their main medium, and aren't very fond of the term "yarn bomb."

However you categorize it, wrapping houses, trees, benches and signs in brightly colored pieces of knitted yarn and fiber is FUN!

That is precisely what we did at Two Twelve Arts Center on Friday. Because our Family Fun Day was Saturday, and in honor of International Yarn Bombing Day, Two Twelve was decked out in all sorts of colors to celebrate. There were also some monster additions to our installation, just for a little extra personality.

Thank you to all of our Cake Eaters and friends who contributed to the yarn bomb. If you haven't seen Two Twelve recently, make sure you at least drive by so you can check out the bombing.

To see some more incredible yarn bombs, just do a google search for "yarn bomb" or "yarn bombing day 2012"...There are some amazing yarn bombs out there!
