The summer months are difficult for low-income families who depend on reduced-priced and free school meals to stretch their family food budget. About 17 million kids nationwide, 1 in 6 children in Southeast Michigan will struggle with hunger this summer once school has ended. Busch’s aims to reduce child hunger during the summer months by partnering with local food rescue and food bank programs like Food Gatherers, Goodfellows and Forgotten Harvest for our annual All aBout Children Food Drive, May 5th through May 14th at all Busch’s Fresh Food Market stores.
During our last two ABC Food Drive events, thanks to your generosity, we’ve raised over $250,000 in cash and food donations to help local families in need. Together we CAN make a difference!
Here are some ways you can help your local community this year during the ABC Food Drive at Busch’s:

C is for Cash – Make a contribution of any amount at checkout. These dollars will go directly to local food banks.
“Ready to Go” food bags - Purchase a pre-made “Ready to Go” food bag for a donation of $10. Each bag is filled with items to be given to a family in need. There will also be an ABC Food Drive bin located in each Busch’s store for drop off of non-perishable food donations.
Bottle and can return slips - An easy way to help is to donate your bottle and can return slips after recycling at any Busch’s location. You could even start a collection box for bottle and can return slips at your school, job or at home and donate them during the food drive! Dollars from return slips go directly to the food bank/rescue program in your community.
