City of Saline Elects Planning Commission Chairman

Saline, Michigan Planning Commission has elected Bill Beardsley, President/CEO, Michigan Business Connection (MBC) as Chairman. This is Chairman Beardsley’s sixth year serving on the Commission. The Planning Commission’s principal function is to envision and plan future land use in the city and with surrounding communities[BB1] [I2] [I3] .

Saline is a growing town with a deep history. In fact, Saline, Michigan has been an important town since the 18th century when its salt trade and natural resources put it on the map. At one point six major travel routes intersected the town to connect people and trade. Becoming an official city in 1966, Saline is now an energetic community home to international companies while preserving historic buildings over one century old. To the nine-member board - each serving a three-year term – planning is crucial to meet the needs of residents, visitors, and business while maintaining the local culture and rich history[BB4] .
