Featured artist is Carol Hanna. Carol creates sonograms of bird songs, which she then airbrushes using the color palette of the corresponding bird. The result is a beautiful translation of sonic beauty to visual beauty. Each of Carol's pieces is accompanied by a photograph of the bird it represents and a recording of its song. Also featured will be selections from the Eastern Michigan University Art Department's Annual Graduate Student Art Exhibition. Pretty interesting!

This exhibit is the third in a series running in conjunction with the four-concert Music Under the Arch series. The April 21 concert will feature guitar virtuoso Sean Blackman and award-winning jazz guitarist Wayne Gerard performing original works influence by Armenian folk music, African music, Brazilian jazz and flamenco.
