Dementia- The Do's and Don'ts of Communication

Communication problems are common in dementia care. This workshop will discuss some of the changes in communication that occur as a result of dementia and possible communication strategies. 

The following topics will be addressed:

• Understand how communication changes in dementia;


• Set up successful conversations;


• Respond to inappropriate verbal and physical communications;


• Strategies to support a person in distress; and


• How to give bad news.
