“Feast of Love” Will Raise Funds for Teen Church Group Project
The youth group at Holy Faith Church in Saline is raising money to travel to help the poor in Appalachia.
An evening worship service and benefit combining jazz music, innovative language and a pasta dinner will be held Saturday, Feb. 12 at in Saline. A “Feast of Love” is the theme of the event, which is open to the public.
The event is designed with Valentine's Day in mind.
"With Valentine’s Day a few days later, this worship is designed to expand on our culture’s romantic emphasis and celebrate all kinds of love including love between friends, love found in community, love of neighbor and divine love,” said Holy Faith Pastor Ian Reed-Twiss.

Twiss has designed the worship to borrow from the ancient monastic form for evening prayer. It will then be fused with contemporary language and jazz music. A freewill offering is being accepted.
After the “Feast of Love” worship the teen group is hosting a pasta dinner, which will be followed by a second set of jazz music. A $10 donation for the dinner is suggested. Those coming to the event are welcome to stay for all or part of the evening, though reservations for the dinner are appreciated.

The work in Appalachia is done as part of the Appalachia Service Project, and is part of Holy Faith’s World Ministry Team. According to the church website, the team was launched in 2009 to find ways to connect with people beyond the immediate community.
