Milan Defeats Riverview, Remains Undefeated in Huron League

Big Reds fell to Detroit Catholic Central B later in the evening

The Milan Big Reds wrestling team dominated the Riverview Pirates, winning the first of Thursday night’s dual matches 46 to 21. They later fell to Detroit Catholic Central B 29 to 39 in the end cap of the meet. Milan is 25 and 12 overall and 7 and 0 in the Huron League.

Tim Sims went 2-0 with a pin and a technical fall to remain perfect on the year.  Matt Schultz went 2-0 with a pin in 20 seconds and a major decision.  RJ Gaskill went 2-0 with a pin and a forfeit. Dillon Farrell went 2-0 with a pin and a major decision, and Carson Zois went 2-0 with two pins.

Alan Kulikowski and Clint Lafferty went 1-1 on the night.  Kyle Domas, Chris Gaskill and Zach Scully went 1-0 for the Big Reds.

 “We’re fortunate this year. We have great senior leadership with Sims and Gaskill and Schultz. Some of these guys have been four-year starters, and aside from what they do on the mat, (they have been) working with the younger guys and being good role models for them,” said head coach Clint Kraft.

Milan can finish up a perfect Huron League season on Saturday at the league tournament at Monroe Jefferson.
