Playing with Fire Tragic for 6-Year-Old
The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office is treating an incident in which a 6-year-old boy was burned as an accident.
A 6-year-old Washtenaw County boy was accidentally set on fire by four other boys who were reportedly playing with fire Monday afternoon, police said.
Police were first called to the home in the 500 block of Eugene in Ypsilanti Township’s West Willow Neighborhood about 1 p.m. after a report the boy’s face had been doused with lighter fluid and a match was lit, MLive/The Ann Arbor News reports.
However, a follow-up investigation showed it to be a tragic accident. Officials with the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office said the four boys were “playing with fire” and the 6-year-old got too close.
