Saline Area Players hold auditions for Chills 'n Fills dinner theater

Saline Area Players will host open auditions for adults, late teens, and pre-teen girls, to take place at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 9 & 10 at Liberty School, 7265 N. Ann Arbor St., Saline. You may come to one or the other audition times, and registration begins at 6:45 p.m. Rehearsals will take primarily on Tuesday and Wednesday nights plus some individual rehearsals, as needed, with mutually agreed times. The show will be performed as an interactive dinner theater at Mangiamo Italian Grill October 24 & 25 at 7 PM and October 26 at 5 PM.

Auditioners should come in comfortable clothes and be ready to move. There will be cold readings from the script and improvisation exercises. Please bring a list of conflicts between the above dates. You will be asked to fill out an audition form as well. There is no need to prepare anything.

Chills ‘n Fills is written and directed by Tami Hindes. The show is an interactive production made up of small vignettes, and urban legends brought to life, that are interspersed throughout the meal. The tales are full of suspense, although without blood and gore, and adult-oriented in their content. A mixture of 5-7 men and women will be cast. Actors will be asked to play more than one role, with the exception of the “waitress” who serves as the narrator/conductor of the show, and will need to be able to interact with the dinner guests as well as tell her stories. Comic bits will be used including a fortune teller, spirited call girls, and a couple of cops. One woman will need a strong eastern European accent. One pre-teen girl will be needed for a small speaking role - she can double as a spirit later on
