Saline Girl Scout Troop Thanks Community for Successful P.A.W.S. Donation Drive
Troop 40575 has had much success in developing pet food and supply pantry for SASS, shown flooding the organization's front entry in photo.
Saline Girl Scout Troop #40575 created a service project they named P.A.W.S., "Providing Animals With Supplies", to establish a pet food and supply pantry to help families and their pets in need and partnered with Saline Area Social Service (SASS).
More than 600 lbs of pet food and many supplies were donated. The director of SASS, Jamail Aikens, stated that the donations will last at least several months, that they never had a pet pantry until now and that previously donations were used to purchase pet food.
The Troop would like to give a huge thank you to all members of the community who donated and supported their cause. The girls are very excited and touched by the amazing generosity and support that showed inspiring community spirit. They would also like to express gratitude to the following businesses and organizations for their participation; Animal Medical Center of Saline, Busch's, Pets 'N' Things, Saline District Library, Wags to Wiskers, Saline's elementary schools (Harvest, Heritage, Pleasant Ridge, and Woodland Meadows), and SASS.
