Saline Rowers Compete at Huron River Sprints

Hornets Row against High School Teams on Huron River in Ann Arbor

Ann Arbor, Michigan — April 26, 2014 —

Saline High School Crew rowers stayed closer to home this weekend, competing against nine area high school teams at the Huron River Sprints hosted by Skyline High School Crew.  Cranbrook, Northville, Saline, Notre Dame Academy, St John, St Ursula, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s, Toledo Metro and Anthony Wayne all traveled to Ann Arbor on Saturday to row on the three lane, 1500 meter course on the Huron River at the Concordia College campus on Geddes Road.  The start was located at the US 23 bridge over the river and ran westward to Gallup Park with great viewing along the river and at the finish. Skies were sunny, but with headwinds gusting to 25 MPH, conditions were challenging for the rowers.
